About
“Ten years in care, and ten years putting up with schedules.”
Iloé DebétazIntensive care manager, CEO of Healio
Born in an intensive care unit, Healio is built for yours.
The story
Schedules endured, a spreadsheet, then a product.

Ten years
In intensive care.
Iloé Debétaz gets her schedule on the first of the month, with shifts she did not choose. In care, a Saturday is a day like any other. For her family and friends, it is a Saturday.

2024
A manager, and the view from the other side.
Promoted to manager, she promises herself she will do better. Hundreds of people, legal requirements, agreements, competences and staffing targets to keep in her head. Her schedules turn out just as unfair as the ones she used to endure.

Early 2025
A spreadsheet, built on her weekends.
With no budget and no tool, she invites a small group of thirty colleagues to choose their own shifts in a home-made spreadsheet. The teams stay, and absences fall.

November 2025
Two hours, three people, one decision.
To turn it into a product, she calls Raphael Breitschmid, a long-standing friend who had already founded and sold a company with Mathieu Meylan. Two hours are all it takes to decide to found Healio.

December 2025
Healio’s first lines of code.
A month after that meeting, Mathieu leaves his job and starts writing Healio. The spreadsheet, meanwhile, spreads to the whole unit.

2026
On the wards.
Results observed across 400 caregivers after six months of scheduling with Healio.
The founders
The front line, the software, the product.
Three skill sets, one table. Each brings what the other two lack.

Iloé Debétaz
CEO
Ten years in intensive care
A nurse, then a manager in intensive care, Iloé knows the realities of scheduling first-hand, on the ward and in management. She brings Healio her clinical perspective, a close understanding of what teams need and a strong network across medicine and nursing.

Mathieu Meylan
CTO
Ten years building software
A software engineer for more than ten years, Mathieu turns complex problems into products that are simple, reliable and useful. His technical expertise has already helped build a first company and see it through a successful sale.

Raphael Breitschmid
Head of product
Serial entrepreneur
An entrepreneur and product specialist, Raphael has founded, grown and sold several digital companies. Working where product, strategy and business meet, he makes sure what the front line needs becomes a solution that is intuitive, effective and able to establish itself in the market.
What we believe
Three convictions, from day one.
- 01
People first.
A schedule should meet not only the needs of the unit, but those of the team as well. Healio gives staff back control over their time, for more satisfaction, better balance and stronger retention.
- 02
Fairness by design.
A good schedule has to be fair, and be seen to be fair. Healio puts fairness at the heart of every trade-off it makes, sharing out constraints and preferences transparently among staff.
- 03
Technology that saves time.
Scheduling should not eat up hours of management time. Healio automates and optimizes the time-consuming tasks, so managers can spend their time where it counts most: with their teams and their patients.
Common questions
The questions that come up most.
What if the team cannot agree?
Approval stays with the manager: Healio does not hand scheduling over to the team; it gives the team a say. If no agreement is reached, the manager settles it, and answers for the fairness and the safety of the unit.
Does artificial intelligence decide instead of the manager?
No. AI proposes adjustments from the rules and the needs you have set. The manager reviews the proposals, makes their own changes, and approves the schedule before it is published.
Can the manager still build the schedule directly?
Healio also works without the collaborative layer; some medical teams prefer it that way. Everyone enters their preferences, and the manager builds the schedule and publishes it.
What if my team is not comfortable with digital tools?
Healio was designed in a hospital, with caregivers and managers. Saying what you would like takes a few minutes on a phone, with no training beforehand. In the first month we introduce Healio to your teams and stay with them through their first steps.
How do caregivers access their schedule?
Through a mobile app, on iOS, Android, or from a browser. Everyone sees their schedule, says what they would like and helps cover the unit’s needs between shifts, without going near a computer.
Can we try Healio before committing?
Yes. You get a 60-day trial to use Healio with your team and your own schedules. We help you with the setup and with the first steps.
Where is our data hosted?
Your data is hosted in Switzerland, on secure infrastructure. Protecting it and keeping it confidential is central to how we work.
How much does Healio cost?
The price depends on the size of your team and the access you need. Contact us for an offer suited to your organization.
